Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 2-door (JKR) - new Jeep day!
Due to Nate's "get-off event" on his BMW GS-Adventure in Oklahoma, he recognized he was going to be out of the Adventuring via motorcycle club for a while. But, to keep that momentum and spirit which we had built up over the past 2 years, he opted to get a Jeep. (and I gotta hand it to him - he crashes on Tuesday and by the next Friday he has a new 2019 JL Rubicon that is completely rad).
Anyhow - I had wanted to get a Jeep (myself) since I got rid of mine in 2014 prior to leaving DC. So - I was on-board with this plan. Scouring the usual places I come across an ad for this unassuming... white... 2013 Rubicon 2-door - with 16xxx miles. So, a few things about that: apparently only 20% of Jeeps sold nowadays are 2-door (not sure about back then) and I have never owned a white vehicle. I contacted the seller and it turned out that the owner was a female, and basically had this as her "fun car".
I actually was very lucky on this find: low-miles, woman owned/driven and in great shape. I offered her exactly what she was asking (even though *she* offered to lower the price early in the conversation). I conveyed that I was looking for something "well cared for" and this seemed to be it, and was happy to pay the premium to do so.
So - it is perfect. And needs a few things to make it a bit more off-road capable and on-road capable, as well. And I'm looking forward to all the things I get to do to it. (and while I miss the days of figuring out what gears to install, what compressor I should get for my lockers, which shops are the best at installing all the stuff, how long the Jeep will be out of commission, etc... I am happy that the Rubicon has all of *that stuff* covered).

Literally on the drive home from the purchase, I thought it would be good to test the running gear a bit. Passed with flying colors. This is going to be fun...
