Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Build - Bestop Trektop NX Glide πŸ‘Š

There are a few things that I consider "absolutes" when it comes to a Jeep...
  • It's a 2 door
  • It has a Soft Top

Having a Rubicon is certainly nice, but not necessary.  Winch... you can get by mall-crawling without one.

I reached out to my knowledgeable rep at 4 Wheel Parts in Brooklyn Park to get the scoop on which non-OEM top he recommended.  He gave me pointers to a few, but I decided to go with the Bestop Trektop NX Glide.

I think if you had never installed or operated a soft top, the installation would probably suck a bit.  My installation took about 3 hours - with some revisiting of the instructions for things that didn't seem clear the first time around.

The only significant "gotcha" is I managed to get the spring-loaded cable on the wrong side of the retainer bar.  So.. when the top was latched, it kind of did this "girdle thing" and cinched everything towards the center of the Jeep.  I discovered this because I had seen daylight on my test drive.  So - just remember that the cable goes outboard of the retainer bars.

The Bestop seems to resemble the OEM top in many ways.  I actually really like the OEM Soft Top, but.. I think I will really like the Bestop as well.
