Jeep Wrangler Rubicon (JL 2-door) - RotoPax Mount (using JK mount kit)

With the way things are regarding delivery times (and availability of after-market JL parts still lagging, in general) I was feeling a bit doubtful that I would have a good mounting option for my Rotopax containers.

I have to apologize as this is not a very diligent outlook at the specifics of the mounting hardware.  But.. those things are not the point.  The point is you can use existing/available options to mount your Rotopax on your JL tailgate.

Ironically, what I ended up with was likely the most budget-friendly approach possible.

I purchased the following from ExtremeTerrain.com
Rough Country Tailgate Reinforcement Kit (18-20 Jeep Wrangler JL)

Since I had recently sold my JK to Carvana (which was an awesome process), I already had:
Jeep Jk Tailgate Mount (RotoPax)

Additionally - I had to get some bolts where the heads had a very low "profile" (the black bolts with chamfered heads - shown below) - if I was to do this again, I would have chamfered the holes drilled in to the tailgate reinforcement panel also (I'll try to show where, and why in photos below)

Here is the Reinforcement Panel

And the following shows (poorly) where I had drilled.  NOTE:  I made pretty good guess just by eyeballing everything.  It's a pain as you will have the hinge bolts removed and therefore the spare, as well.  I recommend making some sort of "mark" or reference of where the diameter of your spare falls on the tailgate (and then make sure the mark is not going to be underneath the reinforcement panel).

2 Gal Water (white) - 2 Gal Fuel (red)

Shown is a likely configuration using 2 x 2 Gal Rotopax (which can be "snapped together").  Notice at the end of this series I should the mounting kits with measurements showing how "deep" each piece is.

3 Gal Fuel (red) - 2 Gal Water (white)

This is the likely configuration I will be running for the trip (I have a 5gal water container I can run internal).

I believe I had ordered RotoPax 3 Gal Hardware (accidentally, I might add - which is why I don't know which one it is).

The following actually shows a 3 Gal (red) with a 1 Gal (white)
