My Inspiration(s) for Adventure 👊
I will be revisiting this page to add more context, explanation, content, etc..
Over the years, I have happened upon numerous stories and presentations from amazing folks. I think this all started with Charley Boorman and Ewan MacGregor (thanks Netflix) when I had seen Long Way Round. In a way, the popularity of "adventuring" and "overlanding" is kind of a bummer - but, it is possible that the companies profiting off the shares and likes and "Insta's" have sensationalized the activity beyond what is really happening. Anyhow.. that's not the point of this post ;-)
At this point, there is one thing that I much be able to do:
- mountain biking
And a there are a few things which I really want to be able to do:
- travel (in general)
- overland travel
I am rather fortunate that I have been able to do all of the above, by making some significant sacrifices. Will the sacrifice(s) be worth it? Time will tell. I *do* know that I regret abandoning the pursuits for almost a decade - but... glass half-full... regret can be a great motivator (and teacher). So, here we are.
